Giant breeds mature over an extended period of time. It takes them from 18 to 24 months to reach adulthood. This growth pattern and their giant skeletal frame can impose enormous stress on the dog’s joints. Supplemental Glucosamine & Chondroitin and the addition of omega 3 fatty acids help to support healthy joint function and improve mobility in the largest of breeds.
Giant Kibble Size
Giant breed dogs are hearty eaters and sometimes gulp their food. They also tend to have a very sensitive digestive system compared to smaller dogs. A special kibble shape, size, texture and density encourage your giant dog to chew and significantly slow down eating, helping to limit gas, bloat and diarrhea. Chewing also creates a brushing effect which leads to improved oral health.
High in Antioxidants
Unfortunately, giant breed dogs have shorter life spans than smaller breed dogs and the effects of aging are visible at an earlier stage. A complex of antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein and taurine, helps to slow this process.
Healthy Heart
Cardiac disease is 3.7 times higher in giant breed dogs (4 – 7 years of age) than among smaller breeds of the same age. Supplemental taurine and antioxidants like lutein, vitamins E & C combined with L-Carnitine help to support a healthy heart.
